At a time where the South was given little to no respect in the hip-hop community, Southernplayalistic was a ground-breaking work of art that shed light on the lyrical talents of the southern rappers.
The album forced a predominately dominated northern hip-hop industry to no longer ignore the South as respectable rappers while at the same time removing the Souths stigma of only being able to produce booty shake music, paving a path for non-northern rappers throughout the U.S.

My Favorite Songs
Hootie HooHeres an example of creativeness at its best. The term Hootie Hoo is an example of one of the many terms/trends that Outkast began in the South. It is not to be confused with the blasphemous Hootie Hoo of Master P.
For some reason I just love this song though. From the way the beat comes in to the entire flow, its just a great song.
Players BallThis is just a Southern classic that you can just chill out and relax too, whether cruising in your car or laying on your bed. Nothing much more needs to be said about this one, classic.
Git Up, Git OutGit Up, Git Out is a favorite for me because something about this song just gives me inspiration to go out and try to do something more than just lying around. I personally love when Cee-lo says:
So what's the limit 'posed to be?That must be why you can't get your ass up out the bed before three
Im sadly guilty of this many times so when I first heard this line I took it to heart and vowed to never oversleep again. I wont tell you all whether or not this was a successful accomplishment, but just remember its the effort that counts.
